Ena Murray

Ena Murray was born in the small Karoo town of Loxton. Her father was the local medical practitioner. It was here that her love for medicine sprang to life, and explains why many of her stories are medical romances. Ena Murray always did comprehensive research before she started writing a new story.

De Waal Venter

De Waal wrote the lyrics for Erla Louw and Annemarie Dawson ‘s 1968 album “Die Doedies sing Doemelliedjies”.
His girl friend, Erla, was responsible for setting the lyrics to music. The album, issued by EMI’s Columbia label, featured legends such as Clive Calder (bass) and Ivor Jeff Beck (drums) as session musicians.

Critics viewed the Venter – Louw compositions as a new trend in light Afrikaans music.

De Waal Venter married Erla Louw in 1969.
